I ask questions that give you food for thought — and a taste for speaking

An hour in English

We meet in a small group of three or four, sitting comfortably, no textbook in sight. The atmosphere is relaxed and I am there to help. Each session revolves around a few rounds of questions, usually three or four, and the conversation does the rest. Learning a language by speaking it is the most natural method there is. Curiously, it is also one of the rarest.

During our conversations, exceptional questions come up — they become the starting point of our communication. The desire to understand each other matters more than the language barrier. That's how we work on our English, and enjoy thinking along the way.

Between sessions I encourage you to study our digital notes, useful phrases from each conversation collected on Quizlet, and a few personal recommendations on what to watch, listen to, and read.

I invite you to develop your language, imagination, and thought through meaningful conversations

· about ·

My name is Jędrek Stępień. I explore, invent, and design questions. I believe that a good question can draw language out of anyone. Its purpose is not to test or intimidate, but to invite you to look for the answer together; to communicate. That's how we create a space where you dare to experiment, make mistakes, and learn. That's how confidence is born, and with it, language.

I invite you to get in touch and join the conversation.

· a new English language studio in Manosque ·

Studio Mentals is being born in Manosque: English lessons for adults and high school students, run differently. Right now I am putting together the first group, a few people who enjoy good questions and want to speak. Let's start the way we intend to continue: with a question.

Which is bigger: the Earth or the world?

Send me your answer. Two sentences are enough, in English or in French. I read every answer and reply personally. That is how conversations begin.
